What Seeds are you sowing? (2025)
Matt 13:24 Here is the first part of the basic of the principle I want to show you.
- You get what you plant. This applies to all area of life.
- Proverbs 18:21 The tongue, what we say, has the power of life and death.
- What we say can be one way we plant seeds.
- There are many ways to plant seeds, what we speak is just one way.
Psalm 109:17-18. This is a Psalm of David.
- David is speaking of his enemy.
- This enemy of David loved to pronounce and speak curses.
- But then David says, may the curses come back onto him.
- Then David says, “he found no pleasure in blessing.
- So may blessings be far from Him.
- This enemy of David loved to pronounce and speak curses.
- The cursing affected him more than it did the people he was trying to curse.
- You get, based on the seeds that you sow. Do you see that?
Getting practical:
Proverbs 11:24 You can give freely and yet gain even more.
When you plant the seeds of generosity you will bear the fruit of abundance. Counterintuitive.
- If your finances are not in a good place.
- Have you missed opportunities to be generous?
- Proverbs 11:25If you plant seeds of generosity, you will prosper.
- The problem is, this seems counter-intuitive.
- Psalm 41:1-3 The word “weak” at the end of verse 1 is the Hebrew word for “poor.”
- The Hebrew word translate here as Blessed means happiness or blessed.
- The NLT translation translate verse 1 this way. “Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!”
- This is how you plant seeds of Joy!
Proverbs 19:17 The same basic principle here. And again, one that runs counter to the culture of the day.
Now let’s look at the issue of health.
Psalm 41:3 If you are sick in any way, do you wan to be restored?
Proverbs 14:30 Certainly, we don’t want to plant seeds of rot, so check your heart for envy.
- Peace seems to be the key to good life in our body.
Psalm 85:8 A promise from the Lord is peace for His people. lay hold of this peace.
Proverbs 17:22 Having and cheerful heart is medicine.
Psalm 16:11 Joy is found in the Presence of God.
Psalm 18:30 When we disagree with something, we run the risk of calling God a liar.
